Acupuncturist blending eastern and western medical perspectives.

Carl M Balingit, Licensed Acupuncturist

Before Chinese medicine, I was a nuclear industry engineer. I started my acupuncture practice in 2006 while also networking at medical conferences, exploring the integrative medicine field. My initial goal was to work as an in-hospital acupuncturist.

However, Western medicine management left much to be desired. The profit-centered Western healthcare system convinced me to choose the freedom to focus on patient-centered care instead, enabled by clinical sole proprietorship.

In accord with my patient-centered mission, I practice general medicine rather than a specialization. For instead of focusing on a specific disease, I focus on individuals and whatever they may need to not only address their concerns but also enrich their health. That is, I look at the big picture of a person’s condition.

General practice allows the treatment of diverse conditions. I commonly treat musculoskeletal pain and injury (i.e. orthopedics, sports medicine), digestive disorders, reproductive disorders (including infertility), and emotional disorders such as anxiety. I also treat a broad range of symptoms (e.g. headaches, insomnia, fatigue) that can stand alone or accompany the above disorders.

In addition to acupuncture, I do cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, tui na, and shonishin. I understand that these may sound foreign, but they will feel like home. And I can translate upon request.

I prescribe customized Chinese herbal formulas, as needed.

In addition to my California acupuncture license, I am nationally recognized as both acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), holding Diplomate of Oriental Medicine status.

The critical analysis and troubleshooting required during my engineering tenure, comes with my medical practice. So you’ll benefit from a rational diagnosis for what ails you.

Find this benefit and my acupuncture practice in Mission Hills, San Diego, where serving you helps me as much as it helps you. Thank you in advance.

In Good Health,

Carl M Balingit, L.Ac.
